Polystyrene recycle art by Patrick de Leede

I started my creative life once as a club and party decorator for a variety  of clubs, party organisations and festivals.

During this period I met this underground street artist named B men, who later in my life turned out to be a great friend and source of inspiration. He showed me everything I had to learn about the concept "ART" and gave me a new direction in life.

Bmen is also the founder of our art collective "White Tra$h Clan" .  A great name for me using the white trash polystyrene....

Because the financial crisis has now also reached out to club and party land, witch means I don't have much decoration work, I had to find new ways of showing off my creativity. I found these pictures on the web of this huge polystyrene robot by Michael A. Salter.

This and the fact that Bmen also experimented with polystyrene gave me the push to start doing my owns shit with this stuff.

Later I found another artist from Japan,Y oshiaki Kaihatsu and he opened up a whole new world for me.  The stuff this guy does is amazing!!!

If you search long enough on the net, there's some more artist who work with this material, but they don't use the already existing shapes of polystyrene packaging  products but create their own shapes out of big blocks....

Polystyrene packaging products are everywhere polluting our environment  and at least I try to make something out of theme.

To make people happy, but also showing them how much garbage we as human beings produce in our daily lives.

The good thing is that it's everywhere, I get shit loads of it for free.
